EPIC Studios, Norwich’s brightest new venue, will showcase a superb night for music and motorbike fans when former World Superbike champion James Toseland performs live alongside rising stars The Rainband.
James, who won the World Superbike series as its youngest champion, is also passionately committed to music and his band Crash will be releasing their debut album later this year.
James will be joined by indie guitar stars The Rainband, who recently wowed Norwich audiences in a live-streamed gig from EPIC.
The gig, on Thursday June 14, marks the first global performance of Rise Again, the new single from The Rainband, dedicated to the memory Marco Simoncelli, a rider in the World Superbike series who tragically died in a race accident last year.
Proceeds from Rise Again will be donated to the Marco Simoncelli Foundation, a charity set up in his memory to build a specialist hospital to help people with disabilities.
The evening will see James and The Rainband team up on stage for an emotional version Rise Again as for James the music pays tribute to a much-loved friend and racetrack rival.
James juggled his exploits on the race track with developing his passion for music, often leaping from the saddle after a race to perform to enthusiastic crowds at Superbike events.
The Rainband have been attracting critical acclaim and 2012 is tipped to be their breakthrough year. They were named as Rising Stars in the latest Brit Awards event at the O2 and have been chosen as support by stars such as Simple Minds, The Charlatans and Ocean Colour Scene.
The event is expected to attract a world-wide audience for EPIC’s unique live streaming channel as well as being a hot ticket for music and motorbike fans from around the region.
The line-up will also feature support from Norwich artists Chasing Tigers and Bill Downs drom Norfolk who competed in The Voice.
Tickets £5 from EPIC on 01603 727727 and the UEA box office.
